Engulfed By Monster

ARTIST STATEMENT

​This artwork is based on the human's internal feeling. It's a storytelling artwork of the man seeming to be engulfed by the figurative monster, and he just so wants to escape from the dark side of the figurative monster, which is his own internal darkness. However, he doesn't really escape from the darkness and the monster tracks him by lots of hands and belts.  Another purpose in my artwork is to show that he doesn't get rid of this dark internal feeling but he is starting to try, so that's why I use watercolor and fade the color through the artwork. My overall thinking of the artwork is even if you’re in a really bad situation or stressful feeling, all you should do is try to get rid of those negative feelings.  The darkness will fade it away.
