ARTIST STATEMENT

The main idea for my piece is to represent the personality and prescribed attributes of the horoscope sign though human appearance. I purposely cropped the image and zoomed in on the facial features, so that the viewer could better understand the personality.

For this particular piece I focused on the Taurus sign. Despite the horoscope being a bull, ironically the true personality is very calm. As a result I incorporated the cool blue color. I also used a collection of browns throughout the entire piece to bring it together as a whole. Lastly to incorporate the features of a bull, I used bull horns and a nose ring as well.
