ARTIST STATEMENT
When I create art, I am allowed to express my captivated creativity. When I am able to focus on my work without distractions is when I create my best work. My work starts off with an idea, or a general concept of my imagination. That then snowballs into a sketch or rough draft. This is usually when my creativity is at its highest. Once I finally decide what I'm doing, I begin creating the final piece. During the final process, I do make small changes, deleting, adding, replacing, et cetera. When I create art, I want the piece to express how I was feeling at the time I created it. The viewer should be able to tell if I was feeling happy, sad, mad or intelligent. In an attempt to do this, I add as much detail as I see fit. By adding more detail to my artwork, my confidence, concerning whether my art looks good, is boosted. I prefer to work with digital media to create my work. I take inspiration from my surroundings, shapes, colors, environment and politics. I use my inspiration as much as I can in my work. Without inspiration, art would not exist. |
